A Central Reservation System (CRS) is a computerized reservation software  used to maintain the hotel information, room inventory and rates, and to manage the reservation process.  A CRS provides hotel room rates and availability for various distribution channels such as the GDS, booking engines, OTA, 3rd party websites, etc.

The CRS is an application with multiple functionalities to manage a hotel’s distribution and bookings.  It can also be called a database distribution system, since the CRS transfers hotel data to different distribution channels, globally.  Hotel bookings are made through different sources (OTA, travel agencies, the hotels own website) and all reservation sources appear in the system.

A CRS is important for a hotel because it allows reservations to be checked and booked with a simple search.  It also allows revenue managers and front office managers to easily adjust the hotel prices to correspond with the demand through multiple channels and platforms at the same time.

HotelAppz interfaces with CRS systems and can provide a 2-way communication between HotelAppz’s Customer Data Platform and the CRS systems.  Therefore, hotels are capable of creating individualized pricing that can be pushed through the CRS system in order to build more loyal customers.
